Utex® Industries, Inc. has combined the benefits
of a mechanical seal and a mechanical packing to produce a non-adjustable
packing that outperforms standard packing sets, while reducing maintenance costs
and downtime. Utex Spring Loaded Packing sets can be installed quickly and
easily by bringing the gland metal-to-metal with no further adjustments
necessary. No more plunger wear or stuffing box wear from improperly installed
packing will happen since each set is engineered to exact specifications.
Utex Style 0805-4
uses our patented 0805 "SF" design V-rings with metal adapters and a
stainless steel spring engineered for the correct load. The unique construction
of our 0805 rings provide a packing that is strong, yet has superior low
friction properties. This packing has been field tested in applications with
pressures up to 30,000 psi.
Another popular
spring loaded packing is the proven Utex 4511-4 glass and moly filled PTFE. The
4511 sealing rings are constructed in the "SF" design and are made
from high quality glass and moly filled PTFE. The chemical resistance and low
friction characteristics of PTFE allow you to use this packing in most severe
service applications where packing life is critical.
